Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

This restaurant was opened for quite some time in Bandar Puteri Puchong, I've always passed by but never thought of going in as I thought it's just some other Korean BBQ restaurant and the sign board was really not attractive enough for me to go in haha (plus there's other Korean restaurants in Bdr Puteri so I usually ignored Uncle Jang). UNTIL two of my friends, ChenChin and Shirley went there (without me, how sad) and told me that the food there is good, and it's not like the usual Korean BBQ. They just left me with a super vague explaination so I was totally blur until I step into the restaurant - obviously it's not going to be like the usual Korean BBQ as they are selling Dak-Galbi DUH!

Here, let me save your wiki/google time. Dak-Galbi: "A popular South Korean dish generally made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in a chilli pepper paste based sauce, sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions, onions and rice cake, together on a hot plate".

We were very skeptical when we went in, as we could not understand the 1 page menu AT ALL (the menu was displayed outside the restaurant); but thankfully we were still brave enough to go in. If bad nevermind la, one meal only.

So here's the menu:

This "menu" has only one single dish, and the entire page was explaining about the "order to eat" of Dak-Galbi. The "menu" is really confusing and we had a hard time figuring out what is happening, I'll copy down the "order to eat" list exactly as written from the menu, there's problem with their English so please bear with that:

1. Choose and Order hot spicy or normal spicy as your taste. (Tip: you can order mixed-flavour)
2. Choice and Order your additional dishes (Sari), Just wait for around 10 minutes
3. At first, enjoy the rice cake and then chicken with vegetables.
4. After finishing 2/3 or 70% of your meal, order fried rice.

Imagine it's our first time there and reading all these, how confusing. So we had to ask for help from the waiter, he was quite shocked that it's our first time (got so famous or not haha). Anyway, it's just very easy, just order the toppings you would like in the dish, and that's it. People will be cooking in front of you, cooking done, eat, finish! No need to think what to order, how easy.

We don't even have to think of what drinks to order, unless you prefer beer. Ice water is served!~

Refillable ice water. With metal cups haha.

This is the...erm...side dish i guess? There's Kimchi and garlics...and a really nice sauce to eat with your Dak-Galbi. AND there's this raw leaf vegetable; I always wondered what am I supposed to do with it, since it's always there in whatever Korean restaurant I go.

So cooking starts!

This is our chef of the day.

Look how fast he cooks haha. Seems easy though, just mixing around.

And....DONE! We ordered ramen for our first round (because apparently after finishing 70% of the meal we are supposed to order rice to mixed in). It looks super delicious, smells really really good too. I'm getting hungry while typing this, haha.

We were very obediant to call the waited when we are done with 70% of our meal:

And now fried rice time!!

You can choose not to order rice, but we did so since it was suggested in the "menu". Can add cheese too! although we didn't add cheese this time.

It's definitely a great experience going to Uncle Jang and I won't mind going over and over again! But you need at least 2 people to order la, loner cannot haha. Do go and have a try!
