Car Accident

13 November 2013

*Belated Update*

As some of you might know, I had a car accident around a month ago; would like to thank everyone for the kind wishes and concern, I'm in good health and continuing my life here (except for my car).

So yeah.. Everything happened way too fast for me to actually think about anything. I was on my way to work, directly crashed on the divider without breaking at all; the impact was quite huge which causes the air bag to deploy. It was pretty much impossible for me to take control of the car anymore as I can't see anything with the air bag blocking me (plus all the substance flying around) but the car was still moving so the car went to the other side of the road and crashed the construction site.

That pretty much sums up almost everything lol. Was seriously lucky that day, I could even make a list on how lucky I was:

1. I only get really minor muscle and tissue injury after that huge crash and impact.
2. I always leave for work really early so there isn't any car passing through the same road, because if there was any, I probably wouldn't be here typing this post.
3. Engine was burning, Oil and water tank leaking, gear box gone; yeah I survived that.
4. If the car flew to the other lane I would have died for sure =_=.
5. There was this nice passer-by who actually bothered to stop his car and pulled me out of my vehicle.
6. My parents who helped me through the entire process.
7. Police reporting and other stuff went really well and smoothly.

But my car wasn't so lucky though, it's totally dead now T_______T. Had to report for total loss for the car so am going to need to get a new car soon, but as usual insurance companies are extremelyyyy slow at doing their jobs. Really need a car ASAP, so inconvenient to ask for help everywhere I go. I'm still feeling really sad that my cute pink car is gone, and I'm gonna need to replace it with some car I probably won't like (somehow I realise this always happened to me, even with my studies).

I'm gonna have serious financial issues for the following months, wonder when will money fall from the sky lol ok bye.

Halloween 2013 Nights of Fright: Festival of Fear @ Sunway Lagoon

I’ve always been a fan of Halloween events (along with Xmas) but somehow failed to join any of the events due to my busy schedule T_______T, or somehow something will happen on my Halloween week to make me miss them. But! After waiting for years and years I finally get to celebrate my first Halloween, and what’s more at a theme park! Sunway Lagoon has opened their theme park at night in conjunction with Halloween -- “The Nights of Fright: Festival of Fear”
I’ve forgotten when, but I found out about this from Facebook AMG page regarding a small Halloween themed cosplay competition that will be held in Lagoon on Halloween day. Since then I’ve been bugging Sayoko to go have fun with me lol. Am super glad that she loves Halloween too and after clearing up all our troubles (transportation etc), we’re FINALLY celebrating together haha.
I had to go straight from work, so I went go Sunway Resort hotel first for a change of clothing before meeting Sayoko and Erin (Sayoko’s friend, Yoroshiku~) for dinner. After dinner we went to queue for our tickets; and for some reason we got some discount on the tickets, only RM35 each!!! Initially it was RM50 if I’m not mistaken. It’s quite sad that all three of us uses Iphone 4 which has lousy camera for night shoots, all photos were horrible and I could only took a few at the park entrance.

My favourite picture of the night:

This is why I desperately wishing for a new camera, but it’s gonna cost me a bomb!! Ok la not that expensive but still I’m planning to save for my Japan trip, so even RM1 is a lot to me (Am not going to take lunch for the following months lol).
Back to the topic, I’m seriously amazed (all three of us too) about the details and decoration in the theme park. There’s pretty decorations like Jack-O-Lanterns and tomb stones and spider webs etc. There’s even fog and smoke around to increase the creepiness. Add on the walking zombies and whatever creatures roaming around to scare us haha. We were pretty scared at first, all the small scares will set us screaming lol, but after a while I kinda recognized all the walking zombies so I wasn’t scared anymore. Going to a theme park at night feels really different, somehow like a scene in horror movies. The night park is rather small with several haunted houses as attractions (After a while I got immune to it lol), but I guess what made it fun was the feel of the entire theme park, quite worth the money even though I only spent a short while in there.

Sadly I only stayed till 10pm so I’ve missed several attractions, really wish I could have more time with Sayoko and Erin, miss hanging out with friends a lot >___<. And I miss my car even more, feeling so restricted having to ask every single time I need transport. Nevertheless, am really looking forward for more fun and excitement for this coming month ^^, praying that everything will go right.

Childhood Memories Afternoon Tea @ Pavillion Lounge, Sheraton Imperial KL

30th September 2013

Akiko came back after going to Japan for a month and we've decided to meet up for a hi-tea~~ We didn't go for the tea right when she came back, but postponed it because I had a one week holiday at Jogja, Indonesia (will blog about it soon I hope). Akiko was the one who told me about the tea at Sheraton Imperial and I was really interested mainly because it's themed "Childhood Memories" which I think closely relates to both of us. Apparently it's called "Childhood Memories Afternoon Tea" because the buffet of pastries are crafted based on childhood games; for example Teng Teng (brownies and marshmallow bars, Konda Kundi (chocolate cake pops), Galah Panjang (grissini with chocolate dip), Plastersin (jello), Batu Seremban (ox-eye cookies) and Guli Petak (quiche Lorraine). To be honest I just couldn't relate any of the games to the foods hahaha, I guess I had a different childhood then.

I went searching on details for the tea and found out that this themed hi-tea ends at the end of September so we quickly made a reservation right after I'm back from my holiday. It was really reasonable priced too (at MYR 40.00++ for the dessert spread and a pot of TWG tea), just a must go hi-tea deal~

Akiko came to pick me up around 12pm and we headed to Sheraton Imperial using the GPS I borrowed from my mum. Of course with the GPS we're bound to get lost a bit lol. The exterior of the hotel looks grand, the old-ish classic kind of grand. We proceeded to the Pavillion Lounge located at the mezzanine floor of the hotel. The hi-tea is free seating so we could pick any seats we like. The dessert selection was kinda limited, but they tasted unexpectedly good, so I felt really satisfied right after tasting them.

Took some pictures before we started to take the foods (the girl thing).
The table of desserts:

Some Bruschetta (which was really appetizing after having all the sweets); Chocolate cakepops; Pistachio Mousse with Apple..

I was very attracted to the scones, but what totally amazed me was the Quiche Lorraine. Seriously blown off after trying a bite of the quiche. I think we took more than 5 pieces for each of us lol, to the point of feeling 'jelak'.

Strawberries and some chocolate selection.

Passion Mango Mini Cornetto. Akiko and I were guessing what is this the whole time because it tasted like mango and peach. So yup~ got the answer! This cornetto is really interesting because it has this very strong espresso towards the bottom of the cone.

Chocolate cakepops~ Pistachio mousse was kinda special too, tasted like real blended pistachios.

No need to explain this Quiche Lorraine. Heavenly good~

I do love the scones here, love it with cream and some jam. But couldn't have too much of those though, it fills me up easily.

Our scones~~ Akiko's was the one topped with honey; I prefer mine with just cream and jam.

Wasn't really keen on this macarons at first but it was unexpectedly good~ They had a very strong lavender flavour and I really loved it!

One of the reasons for choosing this place for tea is the selection of TWG teas. We get to pick a pot each and it's included in the hi-tea charges, worth it! Akiko suggested me to take Grand Wedding and Sakura! Sakura! because they are both famous apparently (in the grand selection list); I haven't tried any TWG teas before so I don't mind with anything~

Grand Wedding - black tea blended with sunflowers and "breath-taking exotic fruits" (that's what the websites were saying, don't ask me what exotic fruits in the tea, but it has a strong peach flavour).

Sakura! Sakura! - cherry blossoms and green tea with a presence of rose.

Both of us in the tea pot reflection~

Left: Grand Wedding; Right: Sakura! Sakura!
Love the design of the teacups, tea fragrance spreads easier with the wide mouth cup.

Our afternoon Hi-Tea~~ (one of the rounds lol). My favourite Quiche Lorraine and Ox-eye Cookie. The grissini were hard to me so I don't fancy them as much.

We took our own sweet time chatting and relaxing around, while trying our best to clear all the foods. Would be great if we could have another pot of tea though >< or second serving etc. Love spending time alone with Akiko, I could forget all the real life stress and just enjoy every second passing.

I do wish to try out the TWG café in Pavilion Shopping Mall though, really have to save up and take a day off for a luxurious tea.

Love this camwhore shot~

Thanks Akiko for the photo~ Outfit of the day: Massimo Dutti full lace dress with fur collar + knit lace socks + beige ribbon heels.

The hotel has really nice interior but rather poor lightings, which made it hard for us to look nice in most pictures. Some look nice though! Guess we managed to capture some light ^^.

Obligatory lift and mirror pair shot.

We wanted to avoid the after-work jam so we went Pavilion for some window shopping. Akiko brought me to the nearby Parkamaya since I've never been there before. Parkamaya was a little disappointing, but I do love walking around H&M, and some other fashion stores around the area.

The huge origami in front of Tokyo Street, Pavilion.

Right before going back we suddenly felt like eating ramen lol, probably it's just me who was feeling hungry coz I actually finished the whole bowl without feeling bloated (some miracle happened here haha).

I have to say I just LOVE Ippudo Ramen!!!! Love the hot soup, noodles and the egg is cooked to perfection. Akiko however prefer Goku Raku Ramen as she prefers the soup to be more lukewarm.

Really hope to visit Ippudo again sometime soon!!!!

Akiko's Shiromaru Ramen~

My Akamaru Ramen. Love my choice of ramen, it has stronger garlic oil flavour compared to Shiromaru Ramen. I wish I could just add in some Pork Cheeks from Santouka though...Pork cheeks + ramen is the best!!

Oh and because it's quite late at night we can't afford to take the appetizers ><... I really want to try out the fried corn next time.

That's all for now I guess, Will do a more detailed review on Ippudo Ramen the next time I visit.

Authentic Spanish Meal @ La Cocina, USJ

3rd August 2013

My lovely degree coursemate was back from UK (for a while) and so the trio gang (me, CC and Shirley) decided to meet up for a meal, lazying around, do some catching up... It was really hard for the three of us to meet because, CC is taking her masters in UK, and Shirley's working at JB, me of course, here in KL.

After chatting on FB we decided to go to La Cocina, USJ for dinner yay~~ I've been wanting to try out this place ever since I'm back from Spain because it's really hard to find restaurants that sells authentic Spanish meals >_<.

Outside view of the restaurant:

It's a two storey restaurant, we took the top floor because it's full downstairs. There's a wine club and wine cellar upstairs too~.

Menu:

I've been really looking forward to drinking the Sangria, a must have for Spanish meals~~ My two other friends decided to take something else though, some mint mocktail and soft drinks.

My sangria is GOOD! Very fresh, undiluted, and matches well with the dinner. Yummeh~

Here comes the tapas!!~~ (my food caption gonna be short lol, I'm bad at describing food, other than 'yummy', 'delicious', 'good' hahaha)

From front:
1. Gratinated eggplant with garlic, tomato, herbs and parmesan cheese -- I love eggplants and I'm really picky about it, so it's only so-so to me.

2. Fried calamaries -- Love this! Simple but good.

3. Baby squid in cream sauce: baby squid sauteed with shallots, garlic, herbs and cream sauce.
-- This one is just AMAZING! I was craving something creamy so this one suits me a lot.

4. Fried Spanish mahon cheese: pure cows milk cheese from Spain and button mushrooms, deep fried and served with garlic mayonaise.

-- How not to love this lol. It's fried cheese!!!! I was all doggy eyes to my friends and they agreed to order this additional tapas hahaha. And they didn't regret it.

Overall the tapas was great to me. The portion is a little small but thats how tapas supposed to be. Was having a really big appetite that day and I had the urge to order almost everything lol. But I didn't.

Main course was of course, the Paella. We picked their specialty which was the Paella Negres. I tried most of the paellas in Spain before so was hoping to compare which is better.

Paella Negres: spanish rice cooked in blank ink squid with large prawns, mussels, clams, squid, fish and vegetables.

Paella was good to me, but the portion is seriously kinda small hahaha. Most of the rice were sticked on to the pan so there's nothing much to try. CC said the paella in the other Spanish restaurant in Bangsar is better so am hoping to go try it out next time.

CC was still craving for creamyy sauce so we ordered one extra pasta. What I can say is, never order pasta in a Spanish restaurant lol, it's just not up to par.

Dessert: Crepe with orange sauce. It's just crepe, with orange sauce, hahaha nothing much to explain. I was hoping to try their special creme brulee, but we were all too full to take more.

To sum it up, I did enjoyed the meal, and hope my two other friends enjoyed it too. I wonder when will be the next time we'll meet again, am really hoping to go travel with them! Probably to Sg or UK haha. Gonna start saving up my travelling expenses.

Short backdated post

Was doing back-up for pictures taken using my Iphone (my iphone has a really limited capacity) and saw some nice pictures taken with my dear friend Akiko that I haven't posted anywhere~

Birthday Dinner

I forgotten the exact date we went for the birthday dinner at Grand Dorsett (Akiko's bday by the way), but I remember it's the first Saturday for ramathan, so yeah, you can go check out the calendar yourself. Four of us went for the dinner together (me and Akiko a table; my sis and her friend another table, it's my sis's friend's bday too~).

The dinner was really nice, Akiko and I spent more than 30minutes camwhoring before grabbing our foods lol. Due to the ramathan there's more varieties of food for the day (there's some grilled stuff outside too). More than the food, I really love the time spent with Akiko, all the chats and sitting down eating, and the chats, and the eating again lol; very relaxing and peaceful and GREAT!. And Happy Birthday to Akiko again~~

Outfit of the day!~ Knitted lace playsuit from Bebe Singapore.

One of the many camwhore pic:

My favourite photo of the day: two of us in the "doll" pose haha.

Mini outing - 16th July 2013

Went to Akiko's house to borrow her sewing machine -- I bought a maxi a while ago and it's extremely looooooong lolol, had to cut a chunk out and sew the sides. Haven't seen a sewing machine for such a long time and of course Akiko had to help out most of it. Should probably find a chance to wear it real soon ^^.

I remember that day was the first time I drove my car to her house, and was the first time driving a friend for lunch. We went to the nearby IOI mall for lunch (Sushi King~), took purikura!!! and the must go Daiso shopping. Just a couple of hours of great time together.

Purikura pics!!~~ Thanks to Akiko for purchasing the photos~ Will now always purchase the purikura pics since it's so worth it! I do hope that it's sharper though, but see from phone they look perfectly fine la.

My few favourite picks:

Thats all for this post! Am really looking forward for our Hi-Tea session few days later hehe~

Hair Colour Evolution

So while waiting for my AniManGaki 2013 performance videos to be rendered and uploaded on youtube, I decided to write up a post about my hair colour changes over the past one and half year!~

As some of you might (or may not) know, before I bleached my hair blonde, my hair is straight black (duh lol) and I did not go for any rebonding, perm, dye or anything saloon related except hair cut of course. So my first time stepping into a proper saloon was the time I did the biggest change to my long black hair -- bleached my whole head blonde. It was a nerve wrecking decision as the colour change is too big, and it may not suit me etc etc.

Took this right before stepping into the saloon haha, drinking chatime.
My first proper hair make-over was at A-Saloon, which I have to say was my WORST experience EVERRRR. It was completely my first time so I guess I kena conned by them wth. The whole process was really x100 uncomfortable: they weren't gentle with my hair (all the pullings!!! so my neck hurts like hell), they probably used some cheap lousy bleaching powder on me so my scalp hurts as well, I had to sit there for EIGHT! LAPAN!HACHI! 八!long hours for just bleaching + hair dye, and the total charges is MYR 87X.XX (which is just crazy). Was feeling pretty down because my first experience had to be so dreadful, plus the colour wasn't what I want =_=.

So yeah, I won't ever ever in my life step into A-Saloon again.

Discussing with the stylist about the colour -- which is a complete waste of time actually since their colour chart is so limited.

I'm SOOOOOO glad that Akiko was so kind enough to teman me throughout the entire 8 hours long process, without her I'll probably be bored to death or turned into a mushroom.

Still black hair lol.

Bleach starts!!

Black hair slowly bleached out...

First Bleaching done! The colour is so yellow I'm speechless.

2nd bleaching.

Even brighter yellow now, haizzz. Looking back I still can't believe I could withstand the 8 hours long torture and not getting the results I want.

The dye now. The colour is somewhat ashy x greenish x yellowish blonde.

Here! All done~ I had to spend time looking at the mirror to get used to my new blonde hair that time haha.

See...their styling sucks too lol. These type of curls even I could do better.

Took this picture when I reached home. Curls almost gone hahaha. Afterall it was my first, so I was pretty proud of myself for taking the step for this huge image change ^^. Having blonde hair is pretty high maintenance: It's harder to go out without looking proper (makeup and clothings) with this hair; I couldn't use just any shampoo and have to use loads of treatment wash, sprays, oil, hair nutrient, you can name any.

After my horrifying first experience, I decided to go to number76 for my hair styling. And it was probably my best decision I did for my hair.

Touch-up bleach and hair-dye. See the difference? Smoother looking hair, a less tired me (whole process took only 2-3hours).

Hehe, ever-so-kind Akiko was with me as well.

My first time at number76, Akiko and I went to this ramen restaurant in Midvalley, and here's where something happened. The entire billboard fall ON us, literally. Pretty much like a scene from final destination lol. I was few cm from being crushed on the head with my face in the ramen bowl.
Now, back to hair topic lol.

Another simple touch up bleach and dye. Did some different shade of blonde each time. Love my hair condition~ To put it simply, I went to number76 ever since the good first time experience haha. My stylist for the first few times was Hikky-san, a Japanese stylist who then transferred to another branch later.

And then I went for Amy, who now also transferred to another branch =_=. Wonder if it's my luck.

Anyway, Amy did this ombre hair for me~ Mainly because I stopped bleaching my roots since then. Ombre hair was the hype back then!

Another one of Amy's work. I wanted a pinkish blonde hair colour; but she made it pinkish purple for me hahaha, but it's fine since I kinda liked the style back then.

Pink-blonde looks quite dark without proper lightings.

After Amy got transferred to another branch, I then went for Steve (who was previously my mum's stylist). To be honest I actually prefer his works more than Amy, so am still sticking with him for now (provided he didn't get transferred to another branch again).

My first try with Steve~ Got inspired by Elena's new hair from Vampire Diaries, she had a dark brown base with red highlights. I decided to go for a purple-ish pink instead ^^. I highlighted some parts of my fringe and a thick strip at one side of my hair, feeling creative~~

Here's my new (current) hair colour!!! Steve is really good with mixing colours~ This time I wanted a light brown base with pink and purple highlights. Was pretty happy that Steve decided to style my hair with mermaid wave since I've always wanted to give it a try. Btw, the waves go off after 2 days lol. But I think the highlights look great with straight hair too~

Am now thinking about my next hair colour/design. Feeling Curious?
