Travel Post: Hokkaido July 2015 (Part 1)

As most of you might have known from my facebook and instagram/twitter, yup! I went Hokkaido for around two weeks (mid July - 1st August). Not going to do a detail travel post but gonna post some photos at least.

Anyway, did my hair and nails right before the trip! Gave myself green highlights for summer feel.

Summer themed nails:

Now the travel picture scams:
Before Japan (at Singapore)

Yummy dinner thanks to uncle.

First time had 6 flavors of TWG macarons at once.

Hakodate & Matsumae

First Lunch:

Unagi Rice

Omurice

Gyudon.

Famous Yubari melon + mix milk/melon softcream.

Dinner at Lucky Pierrot (apparently the best burger in Japan), I do think so too though, the burger is really soooo yummy.

Drinks are meh though.

The No. 1 in Japan burger.

Hamburger set because the burger alone wasn't enough.

Midnight Snacks.

Breakfast at Hakodate Morning Market before Matsumae day trip:

These were one of the best seafood don we had throughout the trip. I rank it No. 2, please do look forward for No. 1 hahaha.

Tickets to Matsumae Castle.

Had soba in Matsumae because the famous Matsumae sanshoku don restaurant is closed that day =___=.

Night scene at Mount Hakodate. Top 3 night sceneries in the world! Conquered!

Dinner at mount hakodate, having dinner while looking at the world top night scenes.

Goryokaku Tower

Ice Cream in the tower.

Lunch at Hakodate famous Shio Ramen shop Ajisai. Had to say Shio Ramen is my least favourite ramen flavor of all. Can't even finish half a bowl, but my family likes it though lol.

Almond dessert after lunch.

Noboribetsu & Lake Toya

Went into the onsen uncountable times for this trip hahaha, it's almost everyday.

Me + Yukata + Hakama

Our dinner getting prepared in our room.

Lol super extravagant dinner.

Zoomed in.

We were sooooo lcuky to have caught the local Noboribetsu summer ghost fireworks event (actually we were quite lucky throughout the trip because whereever we went it somehow landed on the festival day). And so, the ghost festival is about two ghosts (the red and blue), servant of the Hell King/God, dancing and praying for our health and safety.

Lake Toya day trip: we were very lucky to have met a super kind hearted old taxi driver who volunteered to send us around whole day with some charge (it's gonna be super expensive if he charged us by meter, and we wanted to use the bus at first, which means longer travel time and harder schedule).

In front of Lake Toya and Showa Shinzan.

Me on top of Usuzan, the lake behind is Lake Toya.

Had the Lake Toya famous Red Beef Curry Rice for lunch, with the Noboribetsu demon beer. Too bad the Blue demon beer was sold out, so we only tried the red demon.

Went to see the black bears after lunch, bear say Hi!

We went to Noboribetsu best foot spring (unexpectedly near our Ryokan). The spring water was very hot but our legs did feel better after the dip :D.

Second day dinner, different menu!

Thats all for Part 1! Will blog about Otaru and the rest soon ^^

MMU Japan Cultural Night

8th January 2015

I'm happy to be invited to perform for Japanese Cultural Night, MMU (Multimedia University). Was invited to perform last year as well, but was having some schedule issues so I ended up not going. Am glad that this year everything is going well!

Anyway I went performing straight after work. Feeling kinda worried because I drove all the way to cyberjaya alone and we all know how awesome is my driving *cough*.

Met with the crews, the people there were soooo nice and caring >< Feeling all the love from the management. Met up with Miranda whom I've not seen for almost a year, she's so cute as usual. And her voice is just amazing. Wish I could sing with her one day!

Setlist for the day:
1. God Knows from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
2. Kimi wo Nosete from Laputa
3. Shirushi from S.A.O Season 2

This was a really small event, with not much audience (probably due to the heavy rain). But I'm happy to spend time with Miranda, the Harmonia members and also the crews!! Most importantly it helps me get my mind off work for few hours. It was during my quarter closing actually, sneaked out just to perform.

Thanks for the tag!~

Merry Xmas 2014!

Spent my Christmas Eve night with the Escape Gang. We went to try the new Escape Ninja in Puchong, and feeling adventurous so we tried the hardest god level room, and failed obviously. Seriously the hardest we've been, impossible to get through!

Not going to write spoilers here so here's our group picture after the game ^^.

Forgot to add, new Escape Gang member: Chee Ren! He's CrestFall's new lead guitarist by the way.

Christmas day was rather calm and peaceful. Just a family shopping day at One Utama. Mainly was to buy my dad a pair of new working shoes as his belated birthday present.

Xmas lunch at L.Table! The christmas set was average, I prefer their pesto scallop pasta I had during my lunches hehe.

Mother-daughters trio. Pardon my bareface lol, did not have the mood to dress up/makeup properly.

Mum and I ordered a piece of cheesecake and our own drinks. While my sister took some random pasta I can't remember.

Dad's Xmas Turkey Main Course.

Sis's Carbonara (I'm just guessing coz the picture does look like Carbonara).

The not-so-nice Xmas set cake that I don't bother remembering the name.

My Boxing Day dinner was AMAZING though!! Thanks a lot to Peggie and Benjamin for the company~ And of course huge thanks to Benjamin for driving me all the way back home ><

Went to Acme Bar and Coffee, Troika for their Xmas menu. I have to say I really love the settings and decorations a lot! The lights are really festive and I'm glad I get to celebrate Xmas there (one day late though).

Benjamin had to order this Mac and Cheese because....he is currently a vegetarian lol. It tasted alright though; just feeling a little sad for him because the new festive menu at ABC is really really good (especially my order!!).

Peggie's erm...pasta LOLOL I tried to recall the name but I really couldn't, so sorry.

My Star Dish of the Day: Smoked Duck Foie Gras.
I have to say that this was one of my favourite dish!!! Top 5 in the list of best foods I've tried~ I enjoyed every bite of it and will definitely come back for moreeeee.

It was dark inside so pictures are mostly blurred haiz. I wrote down the detail for my dish though:"Tender Duck Breast, French Foie Gras on bed of Saffron pumpkin puree, baby kale, beetroot relish and cranberry rosemary sauce. Just typing this made me wanna go back ABC right now lol.

Happy me with my mains.

Me + Lovely Peggie~~

Trio shot! Seriously miss you guys a lot. Although we have had many shitty stuffs happening in our ex-co, but the three of us were always together throughout that 4 months and I miss that a lot. Couldn't find other colleagues that click so well with me anymore haiz..Miss you guys like crazy.

My two favourite ex-colleagues ^^.
Probably coz I was really happy and excited that night, my appetite was seriously good and I just won't stop eating =____=. I was feeling really hungry even after finishing my mains, Peggie and Ben were so kind to encourage me to order more and they promised to share with me so I could try out more foods hehe.

This is how they always pampered me during the 4 months we were together, thank you sooo much for always putting up with me!

Yummy Patate Fritte!! for us to share ^^.

For desserts we ordered this Cempedak Cake,

And also this Light-As-Air Pavlova. I'm fine with the desserts here, Just that their hot foods are sooo good (even the finger foods!) that it kinda overwrites the desserts haha. Peggie love the Cempedak cake though.

Really really wanna go back again for the good foods ^^. We made sure to take some photos after our meal because the xmas decorations there was super pretty. Too bad the lightings was kinda dim, so it's rather hard to take good pictures sobs.

My OOTD: Fur Collar Leather Jacket (frm UK) + Cat pattern Maxi Dress + Burberry Blue Label yellow sackbag.

Love the photos! Will call both of you out again real soon, probably after/during CNY. Meanwhile trying to think when to return to ABC, will trying asking if my parents are interested~

Food post: Closing/Ultra Busy Period

My work partner (Kubo-san) and I were actually feeling quite grim before our closing starts, mainly because our closings were always quite horrible, to the point that we only have 1-2 hours of sleep daily for about a week. After that it gets better, but we still need to hang on for about half a month before we could totally get a rest.

So what we did was, to make a point to at least try finding the time to eat relatively decent food to make up our mood lol. Although most of the meals were bought back by my team leader (thank you soooo much!!) because we don't want to waste a second leaving our work. BUT! We did managed to grab some nice food and took an hour break for some of the days so this considered a great improvement for us ^^. And we did survived the HORRIBLE closing yayyy~~

First was at POKC cafe, I think it's supposed to be a Hainanese style cafe, but with some western fusion. Had this with Kubo-san because it was a Monday and the Udon place (Arata) that we wanted to go was closed, and The Pie Thing was closed as well.

Both of us ordered the same thing: Grilled chicken chop with Cheese. It tasted okay on average ^^

Managed to try out the famous Arata Udon the next day!! The Udon here was really good and has the closest taste to Japan, no wonder it's Kubo-san's favourite ^^. The chef here was a Japanese as well.

We ordered some Dashi Tamagoyaki for sharing:

It was good but I prefered the one at Watami. Here comes the star of the night!! Tadaaaaaa Mentaiko Salad Udon!!!! This one was Kubo-san's favourite, and mine too. Udon were cooked just nice and not overcooked, and the mentaiko portion were quite generous hehe.

Most of the days, my team lead Zalman-san helped me and Kubo-san to buy back some food for us, stuff like Mc Donalds, Carls Junior, and Chicken rice shop etc. Some days Kubo-san actually took the trouble to get me great food like this Teriyaki Chicken Omurice from Pasta Zanmai:

The Omurice actually tasted pretty good! especially when you are super busy and thought that you could only eat bad tasting fast food. Thank you soooo much to my partner Kubo-san and team lead Zalman-san for taking the trouble to take care of my meals. I can't thank you guys enough >__<. They actually tried their best to buy foods that I like to increase my appetite and not just cincai buy whatever they could for me. I was seriously touched and am glad that I have such good people in my team (as compared to those from other teams ergh, so noisy and less considerate).

One of the nights atfer my certification meeting, I was feeling really down (to the point I could cry anytime, but I tried my best not to la) and I don't even want to eat anything (note that I actually skipped all meals that day). Kubo-san saw that and asked me out to Nana's Green Tea Cafe; she said that having some desserts could make me feel better and it's better to have some time out of the job. So I did followed her.

Kubo-san ordered something from the new menu, Omurice! But the one she bought for me previously tasted better.

I ordered this! Warm Mentai Cream Soup Udon. It tasted pretty good, and I was glad that it's warm. Was feeling down and cold that time hahaha. True enough I felt much better after the meal.

We both shared a parfait because I don't think I could finish one by myself. I know I've said this repeatedly, but I'm really glad that I have her around. I don't know how she thinks about me, but I'm really grateful because I wouldn't have made it without her (as in emotionally). I was feeling really lonely and depress for quite some time, imagine having trapped in some work that you are forced to handle, and everyone shooting you during a meeting. I really wanted to run away and just breakdown during the certification but I just hang on. I do have friends from other teams and departments, but I was just so busy and I can't spend time with them. I don't want to talk about my feelings too deeply with my family as well. Ergh I feel like crying now while typing this.

Here's a picture of the pretty parfait to stop myself from thinking sad stuffs haha.

I do take some of my meals alone though. And when I do, it has to be great! One of it was KyoChon, the staff gave me free drumstick omggg. The KimChi fried rice at Ko Hyang is better though. Other than that, Chicken at KyoChon is always the best~

I went Menya Musashi for Ramen as well, but forgot to take picture hahaha. Went to Ma Maison for Tonkatsu too!! But forgot to take picture again ahem. Sign of old age???ARGH.

I do remember to take when I was in Watami though! Had my favourite Hotate Butteryaki and Mentai Cheese Tamagoyaki!!!! Great lunch hehehe.

Good food can really clear up my mood! Am going for more food hunting this year. Who wanna join me??
